Contact and email

The shared Contact form collects your name, email address and message to handle your enquiry. Messages are private and stored in Cloudflare D1. Direct emails to contact@japaninodd.com are forwarded to Gmail through Cloudflare Email Routing, and I use Gmail to handle correspondence and replies. Where submission notices are enabled, they contain only the site name, submission type and administration link.

Comments

Where comment submissions are enabled on either site, the form collects your display name, comment, relevant page and submission time. No email address is requested. Comments are reviewed before publication; approved names, comments and dates are visible to other visitors. Please avoid including sensitive information.

Technical spam and repeat-submission checks use coded identifiers derived from IP addresses and submission information. The submission databases do not store raw IP addresses; these identifiers are not treated as anonymous.

Retention

Contact messages and related correspondence are retained as needed to handle enquiries and follow-up. Unneeded spam is removed when reviewed. Information needed for publication permissions, contracts or disputes is kept only as long as needed, subject to applicable requirements.

Published comments may remain with their article or guide. You can request removal. Pending and unwanted comments are reviewed and removed when no longer needed. Provider logs and recovery copies may remain separately under the providers' service arrangements.

Services and external links

Cloudflare hosts the sites and delivers photographs through media.japaninodd.com, receiving network and request information including IP addresses. Cloudflare's browser measurement script collects page and performance information; its RUM measurement does not use cookies or browser storage. Email correspondence is handled by Google. Interactive maps request tiles from OpenStreetMap, sending network information including IP addresses and the requested map area. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation Privacy Policy. Google Maps, My Maps and social links open external services under their own privacy terms. Sharing controls may pass the page URL or title.

Browser storage and requests

Each Photos page uses session storage and browser history state to remember the selected photographs, their order and page scroll position in the same tab. You can clear session storage through your browser's site-data controls.

Use the shared Contact form or email to ask about your information or request access, correction or deletion. Include the relevant page and approximate submission date. I may ask for limited information to verify the request, and will explain any specific reason for retaining a record where appropriate.
